some people might find this... interesting? there've been a ton of new members trying to sign up that appear to be Russian bots (seriously.... confirmed with ProBoards).... how do we keep everyone's identity safe, while keep allowing real people that want to join sign up? Bots from Russia? When did you announce that you're running for presidency? zing! |

Congratulations to your new plans fed! Will try to support your run for president as much as possible! Crazy and interesting news! Maybe a captcha can help?  Or is there a way for bots to answer them nowadays? As it sounds that you are in contact with proboards regarding this problem, don't they have a solution for stuff like that...? Surly not only a problem on this forum. Most of the time I don't think about the fact that some of you guys have to invest time behind the scenes to keep this forum running. Not sure how much time and how difficult it is and maybe it is not a big deal, but nevertheless, thanks to all of you! |

Well, back on track. With regard to the bots: Maybe you can do some kind of picture captcha with art by MBW and/or Bambi. You know, kill two birds with one stone: sort out the bots and members with bad taste in art too.
*... leaves the room with that annoying A-Team tune on his lips.

got a ton of spambots trying to subscribe, so from now on, when registering you'll be prompted with a message and you'll need to send an email to the address provided
apologies if any real people were not approved during the cleaning process
