http://instagr.am/p/Bq2Zmo9lMmh Banksy Boat raffle This coin operated sculpture was created by the graffiti artist Banksy as part of his acclaimed theme park Dismaland. Is it a darkly satirical work of art or a remote control toy in very bad taste? It might be both. It certainly is unique and it could be yours in time for Christmas… Make a minimum donation of £2 and guess the weight. You can see it on display all this month in our pop up Choose Love store at 30-32 Fouberts Place, Carnaby Street, London, W1F 7PS Your guess should be to the nearest gram (for example a guess of about 5 kilos could be 4800g). You can even specify milligrams if you're feeling confident. Closest guess wins the boat (the wooden plinth is not included in the weight guessing). Competition closes 8pm GMT December 22nd 2018. At which time the boat will be weighed by specialist students from Kings College London. The winner will be notified by email. In the event of more than one correct guess the winner will be drawn by lot. Guesses not limited per person. All money donated goes directly to supporting refugees and displaced people. The organisers reserve the right to small print etc. Need a clue? The boat is constructed from a shop bought fibre glass hull customised with quick-cast resin figures which are foam filled and hand spray painted. Although the prize includes battery pack, that is not currently in the boat. Boat dimensions: 90cm x 38cm x 42cm. choose.love/pages/banksy

Had a good conversation with a friend who is working on building a real ship at the moment. He gave me some hints on how to calculate the weight of a ship. Of course it is impossible to calculate it exactly if you don't have it in hand, but you can get close to it if you really get in to the math. We just calculated it in the head and I am really astonished how heavy this thing must be. Not much hope on winning it, but really want to know the answer now to see if our calculations have been good or not.

May I have one? I bought my nephew (10) some Dismaland t shirts for Xmas last year, to encourage his nascent interest in Banksy. He loved them but grew, as 10 year olds do and, given the demise of POW, no more will be forthcoming. Eeeenyhow, I’m doing a Christmas box of assorted Banksy ephemera. British Museum plaque, Wall and Peace, some other stuff I’ll dig out. Or maybe that will be it. Either way, this would make a nice addition.
cheers

I just “ Played “ with the weight of the boat 🚣♀️, I will do It again tomorrow.., it’s funny, a lot put around 12 kilos ?! It seems enormous as these maquett models are very “ light “ in general ... See you all !

Not sure why converting into grams confused me so much but pretty sure my guesses of 1.7kg and 170kg aint gonna win. Cant find anything about the weigh in either.
Top tip. Dont search for #dreamboat as much as i did...
...getting weird ads now..

“ The winner was a lifelong Banksy fan based in Sweden who wishes to remain anonymous. They were so happy ..”
Why did they write “ they ” and not “ she “ ? I already thought to Nordicstarc, very well knownn by Banksy “ Team “ and members/guardians from the other forum .. Anyway I choose love , I will take a shower, and I don’t know .. Happy Christmas all !!
