The Next Big Thing? While some artists have hunkered down and continued to produce and sell throughout the pandemic, many young artists who don’t have a collector’s pool or a gallery connection or a public reputation have seriously struggled. A group of people have pooled their various talents to help in a small way. The Next Big Thing is a TV programme to go out next Spring providing 11 artists with mentoring, exposure, a central London and potentially an opening to a new market and sales. There are 5 art categories, two of the 11 artists will be street artist or graffiti writers. First step is to register, then upload three images of art…then wait. The selected artists will be invited to produce a piece of work in January which will be displayed in the exhibition, reviewed on TV and potentially auctioned. There is no fee. No onerous commitments, no financial investment, no tie-ins or other horrible things that might besiege the young and exploitable.
You must be an artist currently living, working or studying in London and age between 17 and 30. You do not need to be British. If you fit the bill please have a look at www.nextbigthing.live which has all the information. If you know an artist who meets those criteria please give them the heads up. Thanks for your attention. Just for full disclosure, I have been penned in as a judge. [/div]

Sounds interesting. As I can't imagine how this will fit in a tv show, please let me know when it is on television. Will you be part of the show in front of the camera or do you judge behind the curtain?

Sadly there may be a little bit of me in front of a camera. I will try to arrange a silhouetted view and disguised voice... like some sort of cross between Banksy and Gerry Adams

If you are an artist, a street artist or a graffiti writer, of course not to suggest there can't be overlaps between those, living, studying and working in London, age 17-30 and could use a leg-up in the art world, or if you know someone who may be interested, check out www.nextbigthing.live
