Drawing his inspiration from sources in popular and commercial culture, setdebelleza creates eye-catching artworks with a powerful impact on contemporary life. Through his tongue-and-cheeky style, reflected in his continued interest in using media beyond simply paint and canvas, setdebelleza magically flirts with the viewer and makes him think outside the box. Once we scratch beneath the surface, beneath his cartoon-like figures, we discover complex ideas that represent the true power of art. First limited edition created by the artist Javier Garlo in collaboration with 2B Art GalleryAbsolutely magnificent. “Santa Ponsa” is the title of the first exclusive limited edition print by the artist JAVIER GARLÓ. 15 prints plus 5APs hand finished with gold leaf, 7 layers of color, 70 x 100cm, printed on Somerset Velvet Soft White paper of 300 grams by Taller 57 in Barcelona. Each new work by Javier Garló is full of mystery, slowness, depth, and of course beauty. This time, the symbolism, so constant in his work, leads him to create a new character. “Santa Ponsa” until now was only a place where the artist was born, but today it is also the invented character of a baroque Virgin poisoned with hemlock, depicted in the presence of her iconic greyhound and her inseparable muppet Coco. As a result of this impossible mix, this lyrical image becomes a timeless place somewhere beyond reality created by Garló with absolute mastery.
