Things I have not regretted spending on - the kids, mrs AB and her frugal tastes, travel, drinking(ish -bit of a double edged sword that un), drugs( ditto), my yearly trip sto amsterdam for the past 2 decades ( no i dont , before you ask ) learning, good walking boots & rucksacks, quality ray bans , books - millions of fucking books that require a bin bag expedition to the charity shop 2x a year....

Every Banksy print I've bought. Even though I thought I was overpaying at the time.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Many, many pairs of good shoes. I don't think good shoes can be wasted money mate. A pair of shoes cobbled together by a craftsman perpetuating a secular trade is money well spent, even if it is just to keep this trade alive. I am more than happy to look like a fucking Gordon Gekko, with tailor made suits / shirts / shoes, and know the guy who actually made my clothes / shoes, and spend hours in his shop talking about the color and quality of threads…. ...than thinking I'm a fucking rebel, sticking it to the man….dressed in shit made by kids in China

Every single penny I have spent on art materials (which is usually odd bits of ephemera) has been money well spent. (even if they sit in a box for a few years) the same can be said for the money I have spent on stencil creators/cutters and screen printers. all from this community, I might add.

1, that magnetic first kiss in the air feeling 2, when one comes into that flow feeling when doing something in repeat 3, that feeling of recogniton in someone's eyes when realising both saw the same thing in a crowd 4, overcoming fears 5. Scratching where it itches 6, being understood 7, watching someone one loves Not free, none of them. NOTHING IS FREE. NOTHING My mother in law died recently. Dying costs thousands!!! Please accept my condolences.

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE Name seven. Telling someone you love that you love them. Bumping into a Cat on your travels and making it purr. Great sex with your partner. Truly knowing that somebody does indeed love you. Laughing with a good friend at the same thing, making eye contact and knowing that the other person feels exactly the same way. Having a Robin land two feet away from you and start singing. Knowing that a stranger has been pleasantly surprised by you actually acknowledging their existence and for just being nice to them. Not trying to sell them anything or take anything from them. Just to be nice. You know..............for free.
Could I please have five from you?

best $20 I ever spent. or maybe the worst. could go either way haha that's fucking brilliant! What you going to do with that?! the plan was to separate all the letters, rewire their lamps separately, and then paint each one. but who has time for that? hopefully will get started soon and use it in an installation later in the year

These are the best things in life? The best? Best?
THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE is what you said.
These are nice things, vaguely pleasant, life affirming in a mild way, but best? Really?
I hate trite, bullshit, statements of the sort a nine year old might forward, with a picture of a kitten...
Edit - I sound aggressive and arsey - not trying to be, so accept my apologies. But, y'know, the best things cost a fucking shit load of money... I guess it's generalizing, which doesn't work. They are seven of the best free things in my life..............would you mind sharing 5 of the best free things in your life? The best things do not cost a shit load of money. You sound grumpy to me. One of my favourite (free?) pieces from BOTI :

There is nothing free in my life. To enjoy that beach, I have to have got there. That paining? Museum entry fee. The look on my nieces face when she eats whitebait - whitebait ain't free. Stating in my deckchair, looking at the night sky? Children working in factory in China/oil used o make he plasti/impact of bringing it halfway round the world. Locally sourced? Gentrification of villages/unaffordable housing for locals. I do get the point your making that just being alive in the society we live in costs, practically everything costs money but some things are free, you can look at the night sky for free you dont have to sit on anything, its there whether you look up or not, the cost of living doesnt increase, laughter or a smile from your niece costs nothing, it might cost money to get there but if she smiles it doesnt cost more than if she doesnt so its free, lots of things that make you happy cost nothing.

I think it was Reginald D Hunter that said whenever you leave the house in the UK it costs at least £20. Very True.
