This Bob Marley mural was demolished in 2014, but a new design has been created for Brockley Street Art Festival, and will be painted on the nearby Brockley Barge pub.
Brockley will be getting a spray of colour from this weekend as the debut Brockley Street Art Festival gets under way.
Around 25 walls of varying sizes will be decorated by professional artists including Known, Dank, Mr Cenz, and Hunto, plus there will be a new painting of Bob Marley, replacing one which was demolished in 2014. Dale Grimshaw has been lined-up to paint the new image of the reggae legend, just yards from the original mural site on a wall belonging to The Brockley Barge, a pub owned by JD Wetherspoon.

As well as the artworks, there is a programme of events, including: a talk by Dr Steve Fossey of University College London Department of Physics and Astronomy and the University of London Observatory, who will explaining his research in extrasolar planet discoveries; a colouring competition for children; a live art jam; and a talk with guerrilla knitter Deadly Knitshade.
The London graffiti scene of the 1980s and 1990s will be revisited at a discussion between The Artful Dodger — one of the first aerosol writers in the UK — and anthropologist David Holloway, curator of some of the country’s first graffiti exhibitions.
Brockley Street Art Festival is organised by local residents working in partnership with Londonist, the annual Brockley Max festival and Global Street Art.
Brockley Street Art Festival runs from 29 May-6 June. You can watch the walls being painted for free. Some activities are free, while others are ticketed — see the events programme for more details.
