I think it would be interesting to have a thread dedicated to appropriation in art - discussion and examples. To start it off, here's the classic Banksy "Applause" superimposed over the original source image (notice how the print has a vertical line towards the left where the image was resized to fit?) Interesting to me that Banksy's work had nicked an image and injected some wit, humour or (applause) commentary generally. Whatson's does none of this and by contrast is truly appalling.
