 Since I clipped it out years ago (I think from the New York Times Magazine sometime in the late ’90s), I’ve had this picture either on a refrigerator or a bulletin board or somewhere at the ready. As you can see, it’s a UPI news photo called “Miss Teenage America, 1972.” I love what this photo says about elation and defeat; one door opens, another closes. - Hank Stuever |

Hey Fed, If you like Silver Apples – you may want to have a rummage around in Stereolab's back catalogue? Maybe try to dig out Emperor Tomato Ketchup (the album), which for some reason doesn't appear to be exist on the interweb in the UK... Thanks... I am a fan... Matmos too ... though nobody beats Silver Apples for me when it comes to raw energy and innovation  |
