not a bad idea, as you've said before, let's see how it plays out. Can always change it if it's not working. Another suggestion - how about not FS threads of a realease within x amount of time (3 months? 6 months?) unless it's for cost. We all know people can go to UAA to do this, or ebay, so why pollute this place with those threads. Evening Cunts. This all seems to be going splendidly!! I wholly agree with the proposals proposed - I think the anti-flip one would be a VERY good move, it was always a big bone of contention over on t'other forum and would save a load of unnecessary badness, innit. I think for me it's just that i don't really give a shit if people want to flip, I just don't care to read about either a) the excuse they make b) the moralizing about how wrong it is c) the backlash or d) the backlash to the backlash. There are so many outlets to sell stuff where it doesn't get a rise out of people I just don't see the need to create another avenue for it. So far, so good with this place though! |

Set up some threads with your favourite pictures! You only need post count to sell, you can post replies on sales threads tho I will most definitely be contributing properly in due time. I do find it is a good idea to make sure people are here for the right reasons, not solely to sell stuff. But I think maybe doing that by establishing a minimum post count will generate a lot of 'nothing really being said'. Maybe that combined with a couple of months 'probation' would be more effective. It would certainly discourage those that are looking to join only to sell stuff. Or maybe that's too drastic. In any case you will most likely be able to find me here on a daily basis whether I am posting or not. |

I would've thought a period of time before selling things would work out better as new members could easily spout bollocks all in a row for 25/ 50 threads in an evening. Not pointing any fingers... Hehe.

Sadly, I think that was only a marketing ploy, I also have my doubts about the hippo taking an apricot, a guava or a mango, the python picking passion fruits, the marmoset a mandarin or the parrots painting the packaging. The grain of truth in the fable was the hippo doing a dainty tango - she's a professionally trained ballroom dancer who consumes way to much sugar and additives, so it's not out of the realms of possibility. The post count vs. the waiting period question is a interesting one. I see peoples point that it can be quicker to complete 25 posts than waiting a set period of time. But waiting a set period of time means that the member is committed to the forum to some extent, however, you could sign up bugger off for that set period and then come back. Or there is the option of both, a minimum post requirement and set period of membership. Just my thoughts/rambles at the moment. Not sure if it make sense or what is best, guess it depends what the forums wants.

Give all your art to your kids. Can't ever sell it then. Although I am sure the kids will want to blow it all on drugs and hookers when they are older. The only rule I have is they can't sell it until I die. By then it'll all be worthless anyway. Hopefully it'll hold sentimental value.
