Why do you like/desire this canvas? What is it that it brings to the table of artistic endeavour that makes you search it out, hunt it down, pursue it?

The fencer indeed is nice; I have to admit it is very high on my wish list as well ... sorry for hijacking your thread ...

Give up, it's shit. (© Lee3) Fontana was born in 1899, started doing the slash series in the late 40's and, 70 years late, this chap basically does a "I like the pope 'cos the pope smokes dope', version, which is fine but, fuck me!
Work like this is the 1D of art

'A fairly regular Viz character in the 1980s, "The Brown Bottle" has made occasional appearances since. Like other super-heroes such as "Superman" and "Spider-Man", he has a mild-mannered alter-ego (reporter Barry Brown) who changes dramatically when he drinks Newcastle Brown Ale. Sadly, instead of enabling him to fight crime and right wrongs, it merely makes him drunk, abusive and incontinent.' Go on then, I've had two guesses, I give up. Thatcher sends her love by the way.....

Brown Bottle. Yes, he was funny. His heart was in the right place, eh? Continuing the theme, there are many manifestations of Aldridge Prior selling and hyping art...

One final point - the fencer picture has a slash in the canvas. A slash. A cut. Which would require a cutting edge. Fencers use three types of blade, 2 of which are stabbing weapons (foil and epee) and the sabre, which is an edged weapon, suitable for slash and cutting. The weapon in the picture is an epee. Couldn't have made the slash. Fucking lazy....

I must admit, I am a bit bemused by the huge hype/demand of Kunstrasen in the last 6 months. I don't normally make critical judgement on art I don't like as I respect that everybody has different tastes and art is art for however you see it. I totally understand people buying these canvases for £30 or £100 to have a nice affordable canvas hanging on their walls, but do worry if people are buying these up now at £500+, thinking he will be the new Banksy, maybe he will, what do I know! I like the 'Spot Remover', but probably more for the reason that I like the Hirst reference, which is why I bought the bejoir i70 print. I think there is a lot of love/hype for Kunstrasen on these forums, but does it go beyond that? Before I get knocked down and kicked in the teeth, I am not a hater of his work at all, I just don't understand the sudden huge demand and price surge. I am off now to put on my heavy duty suit of armour

No. I used to fence. You, on the other hand have proved yourself to be a boor and either privy to the hype or too blind to see it...

There are those that buy art as they like it. There are those that buy as an investment. The latter is growing rapidly. I don't think 10% of the prints being released recently would sell if you took the investment punt out of the equation. No reference to Kunstrasen in that.

You used to sit on the fence more like! From your patter I know who you are from the other forum. Your nonsense amuses me (not in a funny way!) and is harmless - I don't usually respond to this kind of stuff but it kept me entertained last night! There's no venom behind your facade despite the words. I've been buying Kunstasen stuff for over three years from the second release.. no hype now and none back then. Just a hard working artist that has made some inroads I'm definitely a bore though! Where as you my friend are a boor. Ask your English teacher! Now trot along, double maths next innit!

I really like the fencer canvases that Kunstrasen has produced and would love to stick one up on the wall. Sure it might end up a great investment one day but that's certainly not the main driver for why I want one.

Dear boy, take a breath, you're embarrassing yourself now. Had I intended to call you a bore I would have. I choose my words carefully. I'm not sure how you got from 'I used to fence' to '...sit on a fence'. Please, no need to explain, you're confused enough and I wouldn't want you to overload the old cranium circuit. Have a lovely day. Enjoy your tepid art, which you have been collecting for oh, so long and, if you have any idea when the next art history class is, I would suggest you attend and listen, listen closely. In this battle of wits you are, most definitely, unarmed... Peace and fucking. Believe...
