I'm glad to see its getting so hyped, even if mostly for Mayweather's violent history. It at least brings attention back to the sport. Sadly, at least in the states, boxing seems to have taken a backseat to that MMA style of fighting. Most people under my age(42) seem happy to just watch guys pound one another, & probably can't name a boxer other than Tyson. No disrespect to MMA, or those that are fans, but it has always reminded me of a good ol' fashioned school yard fight, granted w/ more strength & ability. Not kissing my British brethren's ass but one of my all time favorites was Lennox Lewis. Like Ali and the other greats, he was smooth, intelligent, & knew how to move & avoid getting hit when possible. But damn was he powerful when he found an opening. And to me that's the difference in the two. Brains vs brawn. Ok, we won't count Tyson, Foreman, or Spinks in the brainy dept. May seem boring to some but I'll take a well planned fight, w/ some dancing around, any day. As for who I'm pulling for, even w/ his rumored/speculated past PED use, I'll go with Pacguiao. Have a feeling though Floyd will take this one. But really I just want to see a good fight. ?

Didn't realize that. I like the lavender a lot. One more week though consisting of four exams in as many days, then I can exhale. One class this summer means I'm thankfully able to work again. Hopefully after catching up on bills & saving, I can sneak in a purchase or two. Definitely need to get some framing done. Too many pieces waiting to grace the walls, since I stopped working this semester to devote attention to classes. Glad to see the others have sold out for ya!!

Can't remember the name, hell it may have been Lumiere, but the cinema print w/ the train was one of my favorites. Hated I was strapped & missed it.Some lovely colorways on that one too. Made me wonder whether a G.W. Pabst/Louise Brooks reference would follow.

I always imagine you as very skinny I don't like tight shirts Is he very skinny? Is he naked? Is he both and that's the reason he needs an XL? To hell with Banksy's identity. Json is the urban art world's true man of mystery.

Well I'm actually dieting. Found that the stress eating this past school year has caused is making it tough to run around with my 4 year old w/o getting tired out. So yeah the rum & cokes have been few & far between lately.

not really my bag i'm afraid happy to say. when i see jps i think of jeff hairosol and that other derivative - martin what's on ? you may think the following slightly .. funny i used to buy many copies of this Cd and give them to people who needed a little light in their lives. Great record. Of course most everything Beefheart touched was good...or interesting. From the blues of Safe as Milk to whatever(genius or insanity) you want to call Trout Mask Replica there was never a dull Beefheart album. Zappa/Beefheart "Bongo Fury" is utterly brilliant in my opinion. Weirdly catchy.

He's out of NY, perhaps originally from Baltimore. Images are usually of inner city youth or the everyday working man, or common folk. Does some work w/ justseeds & collaborates a good bit with Billy Mode. He's also an art teacher I believe. His work certainly doesn't contain the wit & humor you normally see in street art, but I personally think he's one of the best stencil artists around & sadly under appreciated for the most part. Maybe it's the serious social themes & images I mentioned above, or the fact that he doesn't do a ton a prints. I only own one print but the detail is amazing. Really powerful piece inspired by I believe a political convention in Charlotte, which being 30 minutes away made it even more personal. If it's the same Chris Stain then so glad to hear others appreciate his work as well.

I was fortunate enough to get re-obsessed with art in the last couple of years. And since those years have involved going back to school full time & a young child means that the majority of pieces were purchased from thinning out years of record collecting. I made the decision a nice piece of art or three would better serve the walls than records. Only records now grace the walls of my office. Also less money meant(& still means) I must be very picky. I've picked up several prints that I love from the likes of Rene Gagnon, Mobstr, Chris Stain etc. but have also come across a couple of nice originals from Billy Mode, Federation of Ideas, & a commissioned painting on hold by Lala Abaddon. I love her woven pieces but, besides being out of my budget at the moment, her painted works were what really struck me as powerful & full of feeling. I've yet to sell anything as again I've only bought what I envision making the walls. The only piece I might sell is an original Anthony Ausgang bought a few years ago. Although not representative of his typical pyschedic style I still like it, but sadly the Mrs hates it so it's yet to find a home on the walls. Don't see any purchases happening until all framing is complete, although there's always those two or three prints(certain Dotmasters or Del Naja) or originals(My Dog Sighs) you're hoping to find for a steal. Otherwise I'll be saving for the oh so coveted Morons.

As my username says I do indeed go by Smokey. Had that nickname since I was a toddler. Neither of my parents seemed to remember from who or why but I've always sensed a bit of mystery surrounded it's origin. Anyway I'm a broke 42 year old second time college student looking for a career change & a four year daughter. Just like w/ music my taste in art varies, but I typucally stay away from both top 40 & quick knockoff nature scenes. I really just came here as I think Fed & Json are super cool & typically stalk them whenever free time allows!

Two strangers are waiting in line for the newest Banksy exhibit when a funeral passes by. The first guy, noticing that the other romoved his hat until the procession passed, said "That's mighty respectable of you to do that".After putting his hat back on the guy says "It's the least I could do for her. We would've been married twenty years today".
