So glad to see we reached our goal on the Laz auction. Whether it was donating the small amount I could afford or winning the Gnasher print(thanks Gnasher-it really is lovely) I'm glad to have been given the opportunity to help in some small way. And it's all thanks to the hard work & generosity of you guys. Obviously I'd love to be on the receiving end of a tenner, and like skendo1, would work on a giveaway/2nd raffle if so. But being a bit of a pessimist I find that highly unlikely; so in all honesty I wish you each the best of luck. With so many having done so much during the first round of auctions I can only hope it's someone deserving that will appreciate & cherish it. Best of luck guys! And just threw one last share on facebook. Maybe that'll raise another £10-£20

Glad you can find humor in it. Sure his money went to a good cause so I suppose he can do with it what he pleases but still... I really just want to bid an outrageous amount & then stiff him, but my eBay feedback is too valuable. Hope he doesn't get what he paid I guess is all we can hope .

Not sure there'll be any breakout artists anytime soon. Sure, we'll have the same short lived hype here & there. And of course those lining their pockets by throwing out the same tired print in the same style every other month in 8 different hand finished color schemes. But I believe for the foreseeable future, the time of 'the artist' has passed & been replaced by 'the print'. I'm sure we'll see our share of great prints this year but for every great piece by an established artist, there'll be 3-4 half ass ones. Think we can all admit even Banksy can't be excluded from that statement. It's the ones doing it for pleasure & hobby(some of which are members) that I've noticed put out the most consistently enjoyable work. As for "the new Banksy", there's only one artist I personally believe has the wit & his own style that just needs one or two high profile pieces to even possibly be mentioned in the same circles as Banksy. And that's Mobstr. Sure not every print is a gem & many work better outdoors but he's one of the few "known artists" doing something different. And I'll quote one of his works to describe a large percentage of today's urban art/artists..And that's "Overused Imagery".

I've donated once but assuming it ends at midnight UK time. Wouldn't mind donating again.

Almost finished after 3 weeks of cutting. Just need to do the black details, some extra highlights and the placard text. Detail is amazing!! Can't wait to see the finished product.

A little bit of fun before the next 'big' cutting session begins. Too damned funny.

Meant to remark on Instagram but agree it's a great piece. May be biased though as I've yrt to see a Fed piece I couldn't appreciate.

In the very unlikely chance that I win, I am planning on doing some sort of secondary auction/raffle/hybrid for the book and one of the notes to benefit the charity. I imagine some other folks might feel similarly. All of this is a way of saying that it wouldn't surprise me if the Lazarides items ultimately bring in even more than the amount from the Just Giving page (which is not to say that more folks shouldn't think about donating there too if they can). Yet to get my butt in gear to enter/donate but I had been thinking that same thing Skendo.

No not Dillon, although it's funny you would ask. Looking back through old messages on the other forum, I had in fact asked his advice on tenners just this past year.

And clearly my eyesight isn't what it used to be. No way did I just see 34 pages of positivity turned turned into something so ugly & classless. For a moment there it looked like someone suggested Lazarides, whose generosity is already going above & beyond, offer even more so only a select few(forum members) could get their hands on a tenner. Then I thought I saw a gentleman that spent his own time & money to organize & coordinate thousands of pounds being raised for charity called a dickhead, for disagreeing with choice of words used to describe those that lost everything, including loved ones. Well at least once everyone agreed it be dropped, he let it rest & didn't throw in anymore snide remarks. Oh well, suppose it's off to the optometrist. Whew, just happy I caught this problem before I misread anything else!!

In the words of Dell: Namaste Photo by a Tibetan friend and frequent traveler to Nepal. This is a group of young monks in a monastery in Nepal. I thought about donating one of his works but as this is an urban art forum went with the basics Sonam is one of the official US photographers for the Dalai Lama when he visits the US. Very nice!!! So much joy & innocence in that shot.

Woke from a nap saying I'd been outbid on the Gnasher but eBay saying I won it for my high bid. Bit confused... Am I getting one for my high bid too since it's an open edition? If so thanks Gnasher for offering a second or third print. Very generous!!! Of course it may just be a mistake. You guys just let me know when ya get a chance.

Thanks everyone!!! One insanely exhausting last month but well worth the results. All finals for the semester are completed and passed. Wouldn't have been quite the pressure until you throw a wife & young daughter into the mix. I'm celebrating as we speak w/ a nice run & Coke. Then discussion time w/ the Mrs as to how many classes the summer holds. Was originally just math but my Anatomy professor seems determined to get me in her summer class. Weekend of art auction watching & decision making. Also, great seeing you on here Skendo!!! I'll say the same about him. One of the smoothest AND enjoyable transactions I've had. Hope all is well w/ you my friend.

Assuming the majority of us have attended college(or University as I believe my English forum members refer to it) but, I'll be the first to admit, after 20 years away its a whole new world. Some of you know that my advisor overloaded me this semester & as a result it's not only put pressure on me personally, but financially as well as,I was forced to halting work to focus on school. Well today is my final exam of this insane semester. Fifteen chapters of Anatomy & Physiology to cover. Been awake since 2:00 a.m. studying. Let's hope multiple weeks of diet be damned stress eating & 4 hour sleep nights will pay off. Regardless, I'd like to apologize to any that have been teased by inquiries only to be put on hold due to lack of income & to thank you for your patience. Maybe not so art related but I hope to be following up on some pieces, Json being one. Actually just looking for positive vibes. Lucky socks & boxers only go so far.

I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the guys on here have up their sleeves. Not kissing ass but I'm enjoying ABC's & Fed's work more and more w/ each new piece I see. Also something about Lee Ellis' work I find mesmerizing. Prefer his darker face pieces to the more abstract Basquiat ones personally but hoping they all get even more recognition over the next year! It's deserved! A bit biased perhaps as I have a commission on hold from her, but I'm really stoked to see what Lala Abbadon's next year holds. Some of the stuff she's working on now is breathtaking. As for the major names, I'd like to see more variation & originality. Too many prints each year all looking the same. No names needed as don't want to offend collectors or fans. Even tho I'm a big fan, except for a couple of pieces, I wasn't overly impressed with Dotmasters' last show. Tho from what I've seen on Instagram I'm hoping for big things this year. And even though I said more variation, yet another I hope to nab even a small original from this summer, My Dog Sighs just needs to keep on with what he does best. Between free art Friday, Everyman, & the beautiful & delicately done eyes & bubble/droplets he can never stop & I'd be content.

I was referring to whether anyone had swapped for the hand painted sleeve'd album & were they happy w/ either or both results, ie artwork & music? Sorry, should've been more specific.

Just got a reply saying they still had some left. Think my 4 year old daughter may have to throw on some old Upsetters & work up something this weekend. Curious tho if anyone else had traded? And if so what were the results of sent AND received?
