Imagine being an actor and successfully auditioning for a role in the Grey Fox movie. You turn up all excited, first day on set and you get handed a hardhat and high-vis jacket, then you're told to start plastering.
Be even worse if you'd auditioned for the part of plasterer. You couldn't say sod all about it.

The guy in charge of signs dropped the ball as Grey Fox was supposed to be the name of the movie and Atlas was the production company, so wouldn't the sign say Atlas Productions? My next thought is that I would like that sign  I still remember the banksy crew giving the spray painted phone number to the accordion player at the bumper car installation and everyone was trying to offer him a hundred bucks for it. Just a thought, and bear with it. If the council really don't know anything about this venture and it's not got licenses and permits, they would be well within their rights to shut it down as soon as it opens. I'm sure most of us have experienced in some way the workings of local councils and there would be one jobsworth that would relish putting up some enforcement notice for the wrong usage or claiming (rightly or wrongly) it's danger to the public. Hopefully Banksy's people are already on the case.

They got rid of asbestos, upgraded electrical, plumbing, built 2 bathrooms, etc. the article said the building would be open this summer. It seemed to me the repairs were more suited for a venue rather than a movie shoot. Team Banksy has all the correct permits etc. I'm sure like in Bridtol museum secrecy was part of their contract with the powers that be. |
