does it bug anybody else that Damien Hirst will be featured? What's it gonna be... a 50 million dollar diamond encrusted Jimminy Cricket statue? ugh. seems awfully out of place. Robert Hughes must be shaking in his grave People still don't get it.... Dismaland.... "long gone', 'dismal', 'ruined', 'abandoned'.... " In June 2015, rumours began to emerge of the Tropicana site being used to stage an art event over the summer 2015. Some reports were leaked of the site being allocated for filming of Grey Fox -a crime thriller- between August and October 2015. In July 2015, it emerged that acclaimed British grafitti artist Banksy (a lonely farmer who swapped lambs from cans) would be curating the site for an art happening entitled "somewhere over the railings". Opening date for the exhibition is 22nd August 2015, with public access following private view. Exhibition is will last until October 2015. Approved consumable merchandise - including Dismaland branded beer and chocolate - will be available on site,but a general public print release is not expected following questions and concerns raised with earlier Banksy print releases. Due to licencing restriction, the Dismaland bar and grill will be restricted to a 2Pm to 11PM opening period ( weekends until 01.00AM). There is no licence for dancing. Entrance fee is mooted to be £3, with a limited edition poster for each paying entrant. Ebay have formally announced they will be soon be rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of all that banksy generated filthy lucre coming their way .
Isaac Hunt, local councillor, has declared that the time-honoured tradition of 'shin kicking' will be included in an artistic interpretation of Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman'. This news has been greeted positively by queuing fans already lining the streets outside. One responded, 'That's top that is' whilst being passed a bottle of Schnapps.
On September 25th,The cheeky Banksy persona will be revealed as a construct of artifice by established art anarchist and multi millionaire turner prize winner, Damien Hirst. The clues were always there, you just chose not to see them.

The Disneyland theme is an interesting one - done to fucking death by everyone ever all the fucking time for fucking ever. Whether the dark side of the mirror Disney works will be down to the individual visitor. I am not sure I can manage too many artistically illiterate pastiche pieces on mickey cunting mouse any more. though Oh dear at least you can enjoy the pizza ........ what if its mickey mouse shaped pizza though what ya gonna do then? |

Not really - Hirst is Bristolian as well - he probably spent time at Tropicana. I'm interested to see what he contributes to be fair- he is more than blingy shite for the Chelsea set - as difficult as that is to see sometimes He was born in Bristol, then grew up in Leeds, the studied in London. I like to think he is involved less because of a random act of fate and more because he's one of the most influential and important artists of the last 100 years and an avid patron of the arts who is building a fucking huge museum to display a fuck ton of contemporary art. If you have problems getting into the site (I have. A lot.) open it in a "private"/"incognito" window of your browser and it will load ok.
