wouldn't it be great if it turned into a traveling circus? complete with carnies and all that. only way some of us broke fans outside the UK could get s chance to see it. plus it would be hysterical What a great idea would love to see how the states would react to it as its full of sarcasm and edge as well as very purile humor and irreverence Eg they give you a little map as you go in to the main area.....asked for a couple extra He counts an extra three and just chucks them on the floor in front of me.....brilliant and walks off.......really is superb

Just out of idle curiosity, what are people's thoughts on the online ticket release for Tuesday? Will they get it to work or will it be same again? I just can't see it working. But then I'm naturally a negative person.

Don't think he's "trolling" everyone (as some people have said) knowing people are trying to make plans to travel there from far away

Let's have a thread SOLELY about people favourite pieces (with pics) why they like the pieces and what they think dismaland is really about? Let's deseparately separate this place from that other consumer led vacuous place where there's no higher purpose than buying a fucking t shirt and being there with my internet friends. Please for the love of billy butlin.
I'll start a thread later and let's see if we can actually talk like beasts a step above their bases urges for a few minutes?

This is how the Dismaland TV news coverage seems to go:
"Banksy, Banksy, Dismaland, Controversial, Banksy, Banksy, Weston-Super-Mare, Banksy, Disneyland, Banksy, Queue, Online Tickets, Banksy, Banksy, Banksy, Controversial, Banksy, Banksy, Damian Hirst, Banksy.

It's just a bit dismal that in the TV features I've seen, they just pick a work, call it controversial and then move on.

I have been thinking about Hirst's unicorn piece. To me, the unicorn encased in formaldehyde represents Banksy. A unicorn, while written about and depicted in many ways, all over the world, doesn't actually exist. ( Or does it? ) Banksy the artist, while written about and whose work is depicted in many ways, all over the world, also (technically) doesn't exist. Banksy is a pseudonym, a nom de guerre. Hirst in effect trapping and preserving the unicorn in a golden case, is brilliant. Giving the beast a golden horn and golden hooves is also brilliant and demonstrates the unicorn is exceedingly valuable. Unicorns are notoriously hard to capture, like Banksy. Hirst managed it... somehow.

I concur (strongly) Can't for the life of me find the manifesto pic i saw for the show. All the food for thought visitors needed but I've to see/read people talking about the points raised. How many people laughed half-hearted at the migrants in boats and then moved onto the next work???
