Very excited about Upfest 2015. Missed it last year, but appreciated that the team needed a hard earned break. I am delighted to report that my lad 8Mail, who has painted at the last two events, and who hasn't missed an Upfest yet, has been accepted to paint again this year. Who else is going this year? Hope to meet up with se old faces and meet some new ones. c

Also, anyone heard any rumours or got any info about who the "big name" artists might be this year?

Upfest - The Urban Paint Festival // 25th - 27th July Live Painting & Music Days; 25th & 26th of July Children / Family Day / Artwork viewing day; Monday 27th of July Europe's LARGEST & FREE Street Art & Graffiti festival returns to Bristol in 2015, featuring 250 local, national and international artists plus some great tunes from our festival friends. Upfest, established in 2008 has grown to become Europe's largest Urban Arts Festival. Over the past six years the festival has played host to over 600 different artists from across the globe who have travelled to South Bristol to be watched at work by tens of thousands of visitors. 2013 was a particularly busy and successful year at Upfest with the organisers, volunteers and local community welcoming 300 artists and over 25,000 visitors to the streets of Bedminster for it's sixth annual festival.
Following the lead of Michael Eavis (Founder of Glastonbury Festival) whom in 1987 instigated a fallow year every fifth year of his festival, the Upfest festival will not be taking place in 2014. Upfest founder and organiser, Stephen Hayles explains; "Over the past six years the festival we created has exceeded all expectations, we've had artists and visitors travelling from around the world to be part of the success. The City of Bristol and it's support of Urban Art has allowed the festival to grow to be internationally recognised and further cemented Bristol's position as the UK's No.1 destination for street art and graffiti. We have decided to give the organisers, volunteers and the local community a rest this year, to help us recoup and have time to plan and execute bigger plans in 2015. We are already looking forward to our return in conjunction with Bristol becoming European Green Capital. We would welcome any support from companies or individuals who would like to be involved."
Hope to make it this year

Looking forward to seeing some of you good people at Upfest this year. Here's some photos from the early days of Upfest - I'll dig out some photos from the later years closer to the time. 2008 2009 2010 2011

Upfest really is fantastic. The music, art and people are all great. Can't wait to take my kids along this year. They were all a bit young before (to stay for long). Reckon they'll run riot this year. I hope SPQR is there. I haven't seen Matt in ages. Looking forward to seeing you Coach and whoever else fancies meeting up. Bring it on !!

Not been before but going to go this year, which is the best day to go? If you can only go for one day, I would make it the first. I guess you'll see more art being created.

There's usually a good crowd out on sat night. I normally stay for the weekend, but if I had to pick one, I'd say Saturday is much the better option. As most of the artists are just finishing up on Sunday. There are loads of cheap hotels in Briz too, so as Coach says making a weekend of it is ideal.
