These days I am a bit busy with Street Art activities in the Netherlands, hence not that much online, but has everybody that goes to Upfest already checked the street map with painting spots? I love this huge line up and looking forward to go there.
Hope we can arrange a little meet up among ourselves as well. I am afraid not familiar with the city but hopefully a Bristol member may know a good place for a possible meet up. :-) :-) :-)

It's been a while, but it's been a crazy month here at Upfest HQ! As if there wasn't enough reasons to visit #Upfest2015 we've got a few announcements... We can now confirm we will be releasing a series of exclusive prints from the following festival artists: Cosmo Sarson Dale VN Marshall Dan Kitchener Inkie Lonac Martin Ron My Dog Sighs Otto Schade Rob Wass Telmo Meil All prints will be available from the Tobacco Factory Cafe Bar sales area from 11am (maybe 11.15). Images of all the prints will be released later this week. In additon to these exclusive prints there will be 100's of other prints and originals available, including some cracking pieces on display from the above artists at one of our new festival venues, North Street Standard. The Festival Map is now available for download HERE(you'll have to zoom in lots as there's so much info) And finally... If you're finding it tricky to locate accomodation, we've a very limited number of beds left in dorms being occupied by over 50 festival artists at the full moon hostel in stokes croft. Only bookable by emailing Emma@Upfest.co.uk the cost for all three nights (Friday to Sunday) is just £55. Looking forward to seeing many of you there... Steve & The Upfest Crew!

Bugger! Had this all lined up to go and now a spanner has been thrown in the works and I can't go, so a bit pissed off! I was really after trying to get one of the Dale Marshall prints, could anybody going possibly do me a huge favour? I really wanted one. I have all of Dales prints thus far and wanna keep up with the collection. Contributed to the crowdfunder and now I can't make it. So if anyone can grab one I would be forever grateful. I was really looking forward to this and meeting some forum members for the first time.....Shite! Have a good one everyone and takes lots of pics Anyone know what the print will be is it the balloons print he has recently been showing on Facebook?

I think that Dale really prefers to sell his prints at the Upfest, for real people -I mean in flesh - and I can understand that ( I ve made some exhibitions too by the past and it's really great full for the artist and the visitor or the fan to ha back home with the print under his arms ) . I think that I could get one if I really wanted one, but Dale told me about this , so I did not insist, I respect him so much ...

Free street art worth £8,000 being given away in BristolRare street art worth around £8,000 will be left in locations around Bristol as part of Upfest. Craig Jones writes for What's On. The event, Europe's biggest free graffiti and street art festival, kicks off on Saturday and to celebrate artist My Dog Sighs will be giving some of his work away for free tomorrow. My Dog made his name by making artwork out of rubbish cans and tins he finds on the street. His Free Art Friday is coming to Bristol with three drums, he's made over, being left in areas of Bristol for people to find. My Dog, who has deigned the logo for Upfest 2015, said: "This is the biggest yet and I'm really looking forward to it but I don't want to give too much away." Clues about work the art has been left will be posted on Upfest's official Twitter account. Anyone visiting Bedminster between Saturday and Monday will be treated to a fine array of street art and music with workshops and activities for all the family taking place. www.bristolpost.co.uk/Free-street-art-worth-8-000-given-away-Bristol/story-27472094-detail/whatson/story.html

Bristol graffiti policy 'to deter tagging'Bristol City Council plans to re-write its approach to graffiti in the city, which is known internationally for its street art. Assistant Mayor Daniella Radice said Bristol's reputation was attracting taggers from outside the area. Police believe more than 80 people are what it called "actively offending" in the area. Ms Radice said she wanted to recognise "the contribution that street art can make, while opposing tagging". Bristol is known for its connections to street artist Banksy - the city's tourism body promotes walking tours of his murals - and is also home to Upfest, an international street art festival which is taking place in Bedminster and Southville this weekend. But Green Party councillor Ms Radice told BBC Radio Bristol: "Because we are a city that's celebrated for our street art... people think if they come and tag here, maybe they will get some extra recognition for it." She wanted to "re-write" the existing policy to help make it clearer "what we think is art and what we think is not", to include strict enforcement against tagging while supporting "street art". She said more "legal walls" might be needed - currently there is one in a park near junction 3 of the M32 - and more resources might be needed to help communities and businesses clean up tagging. Avon and Somerset Police have been running "Operation Block" alongside the council - targeting illegal graffiti and "tagging" - where people spray their signatures onto walls. Last month a man from Bournemouth received a suspended sentence after admitting 78 counts of criminal damage in the city while another man from York admitted causing damage at 15 locations. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-33634957
