Hello everybody, My name is Mattia and I am a PhD student at the University of Birmingham. I am conducting research on street art and, more specifically, on the involvement of the digital audience in the process of definition of artistic value.
My research focus is on the digital interactions that happen on social media, blogs, and websites that are able to foster the artistic significance of unknown street artworks and contribute to transform them into renowned ones. Therefore, I registered to this forum because I hope to find examples of conversations around artworks that allowed them and their authors to become renowned as such.
If you have any conversations on this forum that you believe have had an effect on the graffiti or street artwork being discussed, please let me know!
Thanks, Mattia Boscaino

Turned out he wasn’t being ironic, he was basically a fucking Nazi. Eeeenyhow, the online digital ‘community’ unusually came together and kinda destroyed his career... Any ‘upvote’ of artists is generally short term, usually gerrymandered by parties with a financial interest who hype an artist, sell bad art to fools/naive/greedy folk and then clear out.

Mobstr has done some great things with 'digital interactions' and mydogsighs went particularly viral (on Insta if I recall correctly) which gave him a boost. Searching for convos around these may be of use to you.

Hello all,
I’m dipping a toe in to see what this forum is all about, I’ve been spending time on another for a while now. It seems as though there’s quite a bit of crossover.
I’m in Los Angeles. I’m addicted to buying art. Some of my favorite artists are Dran, Invader, UFO907, Ador, Kam and Laurene, Liqen, Blu, and Banksy. But I’m constantly impressed by others as well and I’m sure I’ve forgot to mention someone.
I don’t bicker, take jabs at sales posts, or take the bait from agitators.
I don’t know a lot but I share what I do.
✌🏽

Hi, I'm sure I've been a member here before, but couldn't find login details. So here we go again! Recently on show at The Other Art Fair, and a huge success. 'Michelin Man', 40 x 50cm on high quality photographic paper.

Hey everyone!
I’ve been a member at UAA forums for a little bit, mainly a lurker, but I heard mention of these forums, so I decided to go ahead and join.
It’s always a pleasure to be around like minded individuals who always seem to spark my interest in a new artist that I haven’t heard of before...although I can’t say my wallet approves!
I’ve only been collecting for roughly 12yrs. I got my start in concert posters, and movie posters via Mondo, but have since taken an interest primarily in street art.
Some of the artists that I currently collect are Dface, Ben Frost, Vhils, Faile, Bast, Whatson, Etam Cru/Sainer and Banksy.
Best Regards, Charlie

Hi everyone,
Normally I'm not vocal on forums, but I wanted to be able to ask questions and potentially buy in the future. I don't really "follow" art, but often I'll see pieces I really like that are visual\thought provoking.
Not too familiar with all the artists and artwork discussed here, but that might change! You all really seem to know your stuff, so I'm excited to learn from the community.

Whassup folks, after a fairly lengthy hiatus I have returned to the collecting world. It seems some of the pieces of printed paper I bought back in the days have appreciated in value, even though they still burn at the same rate. Good to be back and see some old names I remember and whatnot, looking forward to sharing ways to spend money on visual crack with y'all.
