It's all very odd there now. It's like years spent building it up and then he's pulling it down brick by brick. I think things are going to kick off again there soon. Oh well, enough said Dickhead has done that many times. Each time the newer, less experienced members don't know what's going on or the reasons why, the 'old guard' leave and the newer members become the older members and fell exhilarated by what they perceive as a rise in their status, and it starts again. Then Dickhead and his bloodsucking minions feast and fleece. I hope to see them burn to death one day. I may have mentioned that before... |

Happy to slowly leave the pretentious world of art, art collectors and galerists... Got hooked, did some purchases, spoke to some nice people... but at the end, on that forum or on social network, you realise two things:
a) It is just a small circle of people with interest and/or conflict of interest... many going to posh cocktails just to show off, to lick asses and turning art into commodities
b) At the end, they are all here for the money ("We're Only in It for the Money" by Zappa, my favorite album)
c) They really lost it, like sharing stuff about Blu removing his graffitis in protest of the vultures without even checking themselves in the mirror before. And all the clowns who click likes, no brain !!
I am done with this cheesy world of art because it is what it is, a pretentious elitist group of plastic people selling mostly crap at crazy price... I came into graffiti art for the wild side, the change through art and art for the mass, I didn't came to see how they fart in silk or spit in champagne glasses.
And I end up by saying, I fail to understand artist; I understand they need food on the table but if I were an artist I would opt for cheap mass art and stop dealing with assholes !
I know I am not the only one thinking this and I know it may not be the best place to say this as some may feel being targeted or may take this personally, in that case I am sorry.

I know I am not the only one thinking this and I know it may not be the best place to say this as some may feel being targeted or may take this personally, in that case I am sorry. i become disillusioned about things i love on a regular basis... music, books, art, people. but after thinking about it, it usually turns out that those opinion's are being subconsciously formed by seeing wanna-be's, and lesser-than's try to bite off the thing I loved in the first place. so every once in a while i have to do a re-evaluation and filter out the real deal from the crud, and it usually leaves me back to where i was at the start, but with a lower tolerance level for b.s. also, separating the art from the artworld i.e. loving Banksy's work but hating how he's sold both by his team and the establishment. a combination of filtered thoughts and translucent blinders. i dunno if that makes any sense but it's how i manage to cope.... you can only control you, so don't let others dictate your feelings or opiions |

Sorry if I sounded bitter but I am dazarino - Well, this is the last art-related place I still visit (apart view clicks there and there) sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ - Great advice, separating the art from the artworld is key indeed, that's why focusing on the art and ignoring all the socialites is a good thing. As for filters, I don't mind wannabe's having interest into stuff I like simply because stuff I like is so unconventional* that I am always happy to have a mate with similar taste. What puts me off is the hypocrisy and greediness of people.
