I love Berlin, and Lou Reed had the most sexy and great voice of all the singers. Then Bowie ( complete singer one of course but more technical I think ) , Iggy, and ( the special ) Pete Murphy from Bauhaus. I never liked so much Morrissey. One song ok , but then, a bit repetitive and too much " charming " and. " maniérée " voice. Great singers ( I know I was one, a bad one ) are rare Per example Damon is really ok but is a bit technical too. Lou Reed ( even if I am not a real fan of his music and of the man ) had an incredible voice ! I never could understand his mystery and charm as snakes in the desert.,. I have too. Rotten, Jeffrey Lee Pierce and TomWaits in another style, were OK. But Reed had something special and different, a kind of .... Incredible, as Angels and chapel 16 paintings between demons and suburb cities. Magical dust. And I repeat, Lou was not, is not in my top ten band and singer. |
