Just some clarification
- The ban is indeed a silent IP ban, it means you are still active member and still seen as a member... and the topic has been moved to user-only category.
- I am in discussion with ProBoard team, sadly if you read the TOS of ProBoard, the admin of the forum can do whatever he wants (even silent ban) and ProBoard denied any responsibility. I will engage with them again to point out that in that case ProBoard TOS aren't the best ever and that silently banning someone is not ethical. I am pretty sure they will agree on this. I will ask their views in regards of abusive admin because the admin has also agreed on terms that he must respect. Pretty sure being an abusive asshole and doing unethical ban is not what they want.
- They told me that user can request for personal information only to be deleted; not other content. To me, having my account and email linked to his forum means he is retaining personal data. I will engage further with ProBoard to request for my account to be deleted.
- I can see servers of forum are ProBoard server hosted in California, USA. I will check US law in regards of retain of data and will further engage with ProBoard team to know what I can do to have my account deleted. I will also contact the CloudFare and others parties involved regarding retention of information. One thing is sure, if servers were in Europe, he would have been obliged to comply.
(Interesting, as per California law, username linked to email is private data ---- Enacted A.B. 1541, which amends the definition of ''personal information'' in the state's data privacy statute to include:
a username or e-mail address combined with a password or security question and answer for access to an online account; and health insurance information.)

Just saying, but the best things you can do now is to add this in your signature.
"Banned from UrbanArtAssociation - Urban Art Association Art Collectors Banksy Shepard Fairey Faile DFace & Eine"
It is part of SEO; it is called "keywords density" and very important.

personally I am not keen on the association of the NBF name with the other forum - I would suggest a rebrand - contemporary art forum uk or at least a brainstorm thread about the name. Its time to grow up and stand on our own feet instead of being a better copy of the otherside

I do agree though that, for the uninitiated, the NBF title can be a little confusing. Perhaps the Not Just Banksy Forum?

Yes, let's grow up a bit. I suggest a rebrand with this name:
Urban Artist Association

That's a good question. If he has any sense, he's out enjoying the sun and with a cider or something in his hand. Feel free to say hi though Cornish. We all love you.

But on a serious note: I do agree on cutting ties with uua. And also leave the hate and discomfort with uaa when we adapt a new name. Just put some distance between the two forums. The further we are from sulky the better imo. Perhaps also leave the discussion about uaa at the doorstep and just talk art and graffiti?
I strongly suggest a re-branding!

If new people pop in and all they see is some disgruntled people at the end of the bar, talking about how they've been wronged, it's not exactly cheery. We move on. Let go of the baggage of the past. Burn it if you have to. Like a car.

My suggestion is to stop reading after this sentence. www.weloveurbanart.com WLUA (also the sound I make when I had too much ciders and hurling while I stumble home.... ) www.justurbanart.com JUA (also the sound I make when I had too much ciders and right after I made the WLUA sound... ) www.streetandurbanart.com SAUA (this is the sound I make when I have my morning poo and I have been drinking and eating spicy curry the night before..) I need to stop drinking.....

Let's move the thread to member only if possible sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ The main focus should be to have more content and more people on board, especially artists and galleries and a totally different and better design. Another important point is that we need to have terms and some committed people ready to moderate/admin the forum to discuss and agree on what this forum is all about... I think it should be a participatory and collective initiative, I don't want to sound like shit but it is important we speak about questions like who owns it, what's the cost, what about ads, etc... ProBoard terms are hash so whatever we say, at the end, it is still a one man thing. May be ProBoard is not the best platform ? The effort to have an IG, Twitter accounts is great. sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ is it possible to have multiple admins on ProBoard ? I suggest we look at the first people registered here, contact them and see if they want to be committed to take shared costs, liability and blah blah and decisions taking. Like an association, share of cost, no benefits (if there is any, it is reused sanely), no god-like admin, no bullshit FG. Clearly, a more friendly, participatory forum about art (and less donkey stuff too, I like lowbrow humor though, big fan of Crumb), it would get lot of users. Then, for the rest, got lot of ideas, may be we could do a shared doc on Google Drive, a few of us, or group PM. As for the name, it is there. It is already on second position on Google. It has Banksy and Forum. And the "Not Banksy" is quite funny and may attract people more than the contrary. It has that rebel thing

Y'know, it was bumbling along quite happily before you got here. Shouting was done, stuff was loved, stuff was criticised, everyone managed to rub along together. So, with all due respect, get fucked. Come in, sit down, have a chat, eh? Then, in three weeks time when you've all fucked off back next door with your new names and your oh-so-knowing comments, we'll probably carry on...

imho he raised some pertinent points.
The name is fine & this forum ticks along gently.
Its up to the individual to contribute or not.
I've never felt that there is a war between the 2 forums & indeed there is no reason for one to start. I still have a lot of content there that I've seen no reason to remove. After all its not the members fault that the boss is a dickhead.

I've got no idea what happened (or is happening?) over at UAA, but I don't see there's any reason these two forums can't co-exist peacefully. I've got plenty of friends over there and wish them the best. As I see it, UAA has evolved into more of a sales/collecting forum, whereas this one is more about admiring graffiti & street art in general, and a place people who enjoy graff can mingle with like-minded people we get about 500 unique visitors a day, which I suppose aint bad considering we don't do promo or anything and it started as a joke. it's here - we don't make money, we don't charge money, and people can come here and post if they choose to do so. we do Q&A's with artists, tons of charity work, and plenty of great stuff I think all the members here should be proud of. yes, there are some flare ups from time to time but in general I think this place is pretty relaxed as far as internet forums go - when you get people together bound by their passion, things are sure to get emotional once in a while. And Id rather have 10 people that really care about the graff scene then 100 people that are into it as a curiosity or 500 people into it for the money. the debate about the name has come up a dozen times - and we generally can't get everyone to agree on a particular name, let alone get a consensus as for changes, cosmetic or otherwise, it's always open to conversation - I don't consider myself to really be the "owner" or even admin of the forum - in a perfect world, I wouldnt have to do shit - lord knows I don't want to have to . It's a democracy here - if enough people want something changed, then we can think about it collectively and decide if it's a good idea or not. there's a few mods besides myself and nothing happens without conversations with them the only thing I'd be unhappy with is making people feel like they're not welcome here, or it turning into a place diluted of the essence of what graff originally stood for

Leave the name as it is, leave the design as it is.
More donkey dicks and swear words please.
I fucking love colorful language and fresh points of view. The more mad, the better.

turbanartassociation.com
urbanfartassociation.com
We could offer cutting edge information re: all things Turban Art or Urban Farts.
