I'm sure your aware but a 10 day listing starting on a Thursday means that people have 2 weekends to view any items. Auctions would end on a Sunday & give you a little more time to organise. delloy

I can't help feeling a bit frustrated, money and help would do good as soon as possible? Isn't a two week listing a bit too long? What is the alternatives? Peoples memory's tend to be short when it comes to catastrophes.. Isn't it preferable to act short term and strong with this?

Peoples memory's tend to be short when it comes to catastrophes.. Isn't it preferable to act short term and strong with this? Agree with that, and longer listing don't necessarily lead to higher auction results in my humble opinion...people tend to forget or suddenly have other things to do than waiting for an auction to end. I'm sure if we all promote the auctions a bit we can get a very good result and have the money together sooner with a bit shorter listing times....

I was not aware of the centralized eBay plan. My first thought is who is shipping these? The one holding the account is liable with eBay and paypal should anything go pear shaped. So it seems logical that all items would need to go to delloy before the auction. Buyers will be pissed at the old I'm running the auction but someone else actually has the print? As a newbie I just posted a couple pics here and on IG. I have $30 on one and the other is a steal as it has no bids I am stopping the bidding Friday night. Payment goes directly to buyers choice of water charity or Global Giving, I will ship for free. I also think if auctions are too long the interest wanes. Hope this little bit helps Edit: not to confuse people I removed my items from this thread. Still donating to the cause via IG

Agree @bored items are from all over the world, would be a headache to ship to one location first if artists are happy to ship out.

Haha, didn't mean to offend anyone...
I only said if things don't go to plan, dell is at the end of the day responsible for all fuck ups. And I was just thinking back to things like the secret Santa where everyone has good intentions but invariably a few don't ship or need gentle prodding. If you use eBay it's cut and dry buyer pays, buyer then expects item to ship immediately.
Anyway best of luck.

I think all final decisions should be up to Delloy as he is the person that's going to run the auction and this is his 'baby'. When I worked for an online vintage fashion business our best results from ebay always came from a 10 day auction started on a Thursday evening running till Sunday evening. This means you get 2 weekends and generally people are more available on a Sunday evening to add last minute bids. Believe me the gentle folk of Nepal are going to be needing donations for a long time yet - a two week delay will make very little difference. Also surely the people that have been keen to donate will honour sending out their donations once purchased as they would if it was there own auction ....... have faith people Lets keep our fingers crossed for some excellent results ........ Cheers Delloy

Good idea but it can get all complicated. Sell what you want to sell and donate directly, simple and effective. There are many charities for emergencies like this with all the needed infrastructure already in place. www.dec.org.uk/appeals/nepal-earthquake-appeal

Yes you are probably right mojo. It's just my own feeling of "baaaaah" action now por favor, people are suffering. I so wish I was this giant mama octopussy that could help all suffering people, but no, here I sit feeling helpless.

Cheers Delloy yup I agree. delloy has a vision as to how it will go, and I think he's going to knock it out of the park. supplies and funds will be needed for months, and years to come. A couple of weeks delay in getting them donations is not an issue in the grand scheme of things and having everything organized via one eBay account will bring the most visibility to all the auctions and hopefully, the most donations. He's already got 40+ items to list. I think this is going to be great

You've donated and are obviously a kind conscious being. I just heard on the news that the UK alone have already donated 18 million pounds so I'm sure globally there is already much needed aid getting to where it needs to go. A giant mama octopussy rocking up could scare them a little I do know what you mean though.

I miss the good bits as well, when not following news reports, that makes me so depressed. Glad you reminded me of the goodwill of human.

I agree with sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ who agrees with delloy this is going to be one of the best events of the year and hoping i won't be able to win any of it because prices will go too high. Not bad for an idea from delloy and amazing response from a fledgling forum site.

Delloy - my partners sister works in an Apple Store. She told me today that you can donate through Apple and they will double any donations made
Update on the above - seems it's a staff thing only. Apologies for any confusion

Aside from the 2 items I already posted on IG and didn't want to mess with people that already bid, I am going to add in these 3 unsigned Stik showcards for the Nepal ebay auction.
