Just to make you aware, there are more prints from Mehdi planned, specifically for the LA show in Sept/Oct, and some in the interim.
If you want to be in the running for them then make sure you are on the gallery list as they are being pre allocated due to the massive amounts of interest.
Drop me a PM if you want the email to send to.

Anyone else had a message saying that all the hat trick prints are damaged?? 'Just a quick email to let you know that Mehdi Ghadyanloo’s Hat Trick Without Encouragement print is now ready to be collected. However, whilst tubing the prints we realised that the bottom right corner is slightly dent. We investigated this and found out that the whole edition was dropped while Mehdi was signing them. It is not a major dent but just thought I would notify you. Are you still happy to receive the print or would you rather a refund?' No photos attached as an example. Strange way to do business, never come across this before.

Jodie No pictures of damage, tubing prints that were to be collected why not just leave them flat? Something doesn't seem right , mmm. We've waited 2 months already for them , why not reprint the edition?

These are the pics i received; not sure if these are the least affected prints? Not impressed with the like it or lump it attitude with regard to the problem so far!

That's unfortunate, for sure.

What a shame, most will likely want some sort of discount/refund, makes sense to do a reprint. If i had the other 3 and wanted to complete the set id want a reprint for sure. Hope it works out for all..

I emailed Francesca asking for photos of the specific print they were going to send me, I received the two above photos with the message 'let me know what you think.' This is the first time I have had any dealings with the Howard Griffin Gallery, I thought I'd see how this experience went before giving them any more of my hard earned money. I must say that I'm disappointed with the experience so far and have no desire to give them any further business.

If there was a dent on the border, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But because there is no border and the dent is in the image area, so close to the signature, it's a no-brainer to ask for a refund. At the end of the day, I bet that HGG reprints the edition.

Difficult to please all the people all the time - if a re=print isn't possible then as a Gallery what can you do apart from offering people choice?

They were all hand-finished by the artist, I suppose it may hinge on how busy he is and how big the gallery's waiting list is. I'm a bit ocd about these things plus I never use a mount/mat when framing - so will be asking for a refund unless something satisfactory occurs, I will also avoid dealing with them in future.

Sorry but this is a massive over reaction. Accidents happen and things get damaged. They haven't tried to hide it and have offered to refund. What exactly do you want them to do?

Erm, to deliver what was paid for (??) I had asked the howard griffin gallery to send me a pic of the specific damaged print they'd be sending me, however, they sent me a photo that they'd circulated en masse to others with similar requests. Perhaps i'm being unreasonable, i'm the first to admit i have high standards. Did they 'hide things', as you say, well, they purported to send me photos of the specific print they'd be sending, however, that was inaccurate. And they failed to explain this. As explained, my personal opinion is, i'm disappointed.

Agree, IggyWiggy massive hissy fit, uncharacteristic reaction to a scenario that isn't of their making. Why would you purposefully not buy from HGG again due to an event which is beyond their control?
Edit: but they'd said the whole edition got dropped, so it's reasonable that they all got fucked up in the same way.

Here's mine collected it yesterday and emailed them straight away. To be fair HGG have responded in a positive way, but I don't believe there is going to be a re-print. Its a shame but I love this print but as dungle says "Accidents happen"

Essential to add that the Howard Griffin Gallery have been in touch and have offered a significant discount or another, more appealing resolution. I am more than happy to accept this. I am, also happy to state how impressed i am that somebody is available at this time on a saturday evening to address any issues. Thank you Francesca and Howard Griffin Gallery. Wonderful.

I've only ever dealt with Franceska once, and that does not surprise me at all. She and HGG seem to be very nice. I had forgotten these were hand finished. I understand the inability to reprint.
So when's the scratch and dent sale?

Mehdi didn't let them know until they started tubing them?

dibbs45, that definitely looks worse than the other photo. It's really tough on full bleed prints as that has an impact on the image.
