Oh Jesus. It's enough to give anyone nightmares. It's a challenging wank. It's also very Bambi-esque. A 'challenging wank' that's the best phrase I've heard in a long time!!

Oh for one note nostalgia jokes with no depth, this feels like the type of shit a forum guardian should be banning me for disliking? Banning members is so last month, can't the gardener just look up your IP address find where you live and send a warning letter lol

I really don't get this guy. To me he combines the bad traits of many artists - the desperate crowd pleasing imagery of RYCA (Star Wars, back to the future) - the obvious aesthetics of Chevrier (women and comics yay) - the cheap taste of lowbrow art (lesbian Superwoman, really) - the tired brainless recipes of MBW (just add royalty / kate moss / random splashes of paint) Not dissing the guy, I always respect people who have success and a following by doing their thing , and I have really really poor taste in general Happy to hear from the fans though, what am I missing here ? Have to agree but I guess there is a market for it thus the attention it garners, My question is always why is it an urban art forum, and what price as a collector for those that do buy do you put on this work for nostalgia reasons. 2K 5K 10K?

You don't have bad taste mattl, it's just for us geeks who can't hate anything based on our childhood movie memories. Honestly I know it's not groundbreaking but just think it's a bit of fun and pleasing on the eye. Weird thing,I've actually witnessed two pensioners argue over who got the last print of an image of boba fett sitting in a delorian at his spring print release show in brighton. Was strange as fuck. His market is not serious art collectors but people who just like the images. His work is collected by serious art collectors though. I have many clients that collect it along with Banksys and other fine art. His originals are going for up to £50k now and the colour Queen has sold for over 3k. I think his work is going to keep rising in value and even if you don't like it its a good investment.

Haha, just found out the uaa started one, I'm banned so can't see it let alone comment on it. It's cool, just glad you haven't seen the plastic crap the publishers use to frame his work lol

Short term perhaps there's a snowball chance in hell that this will increase over a greater time period it's too derivative Is this what weve become? Is there no more innovative thought?do we just wanted to be lulled back to a bygone age? Just take Valium ffs

Now this I have a problem with, How could you say this is a good investment by what other collectors are purchasing? Lets be honest about the work and gain some knowledge about what the work is. Where is he exhibiting outside online galleries? What where his previous exhibitions? Has he sold in secondary market with real auction houses not called ebay that are easier to manipulate? Where does he fit in the Canon of say banksy who you reference that his buyers are also collectors of banksy? So how is this a good investment?

Just cos you can spunk 50k on something doesn't mean you'll be taken seriously. Even less so if its 50k on some of this shit. Gods investment, I doubt it.

If its being considered as an investment it should be treated as pump and dump shares, short life span fast rise, once its topped fast fall. If you bought because you like it enjoy

Totally agree, if your really into investing then try bricks and mortar, the art world is far to fickle for me, I suppose though £500 to me is probably relative to a rich art collectors £50,000, we all have different levels on what is acceptable. 50 grand is probably considered cheap in some eyes
Not mine I might add

For me the golden rule has always been based on buying something that even if it turns out to have no value will I be happy with it on my wall. if the answer is yes then I go for it. That way i cant go wrong, if however it turns out being a little gem then its just a bonus for me.

Just for the record I agreed to be shown as a gallery over a week ago but have been waiting to find out what the procedure is as I was told nothing is in place yet. mikeydread and anyone else interested: just for clarity - I gave them the option of either listing their gallery name as their username, or getting a gallery "rank". @charliebrown was very accommodating and understanding. As for the slight delay - that was a misunderstanding on my part and it is taken care of now. cheers, B
