I've attempted to buy from Kunstrasen in the past and no response. I've got several of his pieces bought from galleries, but wanted a couple more, contacted Castle and they simply don't have anything to sell, can't really see whats wrong with buying in work by one of his artists that he believes in. Why shouldn't he hype his artists, isn't that what a gallery is supposed to do. Sell art. Not sure why everyone is up in arms, why should Phil be selling his canvases at 40 quid for the forceable future, the man has to make a living. Like most artists I suspect Kunstrasen is more interested in making art than dealing with requests, can't blame him for that. So like many artists they get an agent to field all the bullshit. Pretty simple really. I've done one deal with Castle Gallery and it was as smooth as it could be, pretty high priced item as well. Tried to buy Banksy from plenty of galleries and got nothing but grief, changing prices, condition discrepancies, didn't have the advertised piece in stock. So in the future I'll be buying from Castle, much easier than dealing with many of the time wasters on these sites. I'm just chatting nothing irate here. U agree they should push it. if I was representing I'd add a ebay auction and shill bid the shut out of it. Not saying it's bad, Requests?? we will see bandanas on bananas holding rats flying balloons, ,in front of a dot painting add some red text ya sorted I know every trick in the book when it comes to unnaturally forcing an artists career and 99/100 its a short term career bust, the market generally always finds its level for an artist in these cases even a more localised market which can be more easily manipulated, believe it or not i can see where bubbas coming from in a sense, just dont appreciate being accused of something in that manner, happy to talk about when someones making concerns rather than out and out attacking with no knowledge of the situation.

Castle - I've followed your posts and your gallery for a while now. You have always handled yourself well and treated others well.
Don't lose any sleep over Bubba, he just wants to stir sh*t up.

And for the record when I looked like being duped in the Secret Santa on the other site the other year Castle was straight on to me offering a gift. He's a good guy.

wanted to pop in real quick just to say that Andy and Kunstrasen are two of the nicest, most genuine dudes out there. there are a lot of shady people in the game, but these are definitely not them. Between Andy donating a Banksy for charity last year and Phil donating a canvas for Nepal, I think they've more than proven their sincerity and love of the community
and Kunstrasen's art is definitely much sought after at the moment and he could be charging much more than he does. He purposely keeps his prices low and puts his canvases into the hands of fans. no exaggeration - I've had 3 complete strangers contact me in the past week asking if I was willing to sell my Spot Remover I had posted on IG months ago

You may not like the work but so what. I don't see anything happening that is wrong. His show in Germany did not have big prices. His canvases were the price of prints basically. I would be pretty shocked if he did not want to grow as an artist. Pretty sure he would like to earn from as well if he can. See no Problem with that. Most people make changes to earn more money. Move job or company, city or country etc. I think good luck to him hope he is successful also think he has picked a good associate in Castle and Andy.

I have nothing but good things to write about K. I did a small favour for him a while back and off his own back insisted on sending a small something that he was working on. To my surprise a fabulous canvass (which certainly isn't small!) arrived.
Phil, has made his work accessible and has gained a bit of a cult following, which is good for the scene. I'm really looking forward to what ideas K comes up with next.

I appreciate i may have been abrupt but did not expect to be called some choice names. I didn't mean to offend everyone with an attack on castle but at the same time I was trying to express my concern that a gallery now representing the artist was actively driving secondary market demand and from where i stand, increased secondary gives sound justification to make significant shifts on the primary market pricing.
Your man says he knows every trick in the book so i guess we just have to take his word that we aren't being played as he's that good we would never know any how.

Not being able to see into the future (unfortunately), I didn't know you'd delete the post, and with it, in your words, taking away the context better?

Good stuff Regarding the trade Andy., I'm sure you've got some great K pieces that will be snapped up. I was really pleased when you started representing Phil (as I'm sure we're many of his fan base) as I know he's in good hands and it will really help his career. He deserves it. I've never met Phil but have had regular dealings with him since his TV Girl release three or so years ago. A gent, a hard working artist and a focused one as well. For me (and evidently many others) his work has a certain something. Best of luck to both of you - I don't think you'll need luck though as you've got plenty of what's required in the mix I'm also pleased for whoever got the Banksy - good stuff mate
