Offering Banksy for Kunstrasen is a very shrewd and manipulative move perfectly timed for when he has just come on to said galleries books - I'm sure plenty remember someone tried to do the same with Ernest Zacharevic and was vilified for it. I simply called hype and am now enemy no1. Ive read and re-read this thread - can't really see the issue but then I'm not wearing him like a sombrero and if you replaced CGI with JBoy then there would have been murders for the same move Cant believe the guy has left given what he has openly vented about since he started on here. I believe it was right to warn people that the person hyping Kunstrasen is actually the Gallery managing him - do you feel people shouldn't have been aware ? back to my comment about hypocrisy and double standards I am missing something here? To me this does not seem manipulative at all, it doesnt matter what the banksy were traded for. If he is getting a lot of requests for work by another artist and has no stock but had plenty of banksy stock not going anywhere then it makes sense from a business point of view no? Ignore them Andy, must be pissed off they didn't buy enough kunstrasen's to swap for a banksy! |

I love those fencers... Favorite K image by far... Second would be spot remover but I prefer the white background as that makes me feel as though the remover is cleaning Hirst's shit.  OAN, I hope Andy will come back; although I doubt it. Surprised he does not have a thicker skin being in the business... I am sure he will continue to succeed. |

Not that My 2 cents means anything but from someone who has no stake in either artist or a kindred relationship with any of the members, my unbiased opinion is that its all fair game when you start slanging insults even small insults they only lead to more insults. Andy was not innocent in that part at all, and it you dont have thick skin in these art forums you are in for a lashing that will make you not come back at times. The bigger thing to do is stand your ground as civil as possible and ignore any trolls.
I see the points made against the Gallery and The headline that can be construed as Hype, I dont think any of us galleries are above being questioned regardless of how nice or how great we have been. If your intent was to accumulate more Work from the artists why no make a post that read looking for all Kunstrasen work willing to trade for other work in the body of the post not he headline. Its common practice around these forums to do it this way. The way Andy did it called for attention and rightfully got it, also if you know the artists work was substantially less than what you were trading for that is more reason to not make the title say trade Banksy for Kunstrasen as everyone knows they are not in the ballpark . What People are sitting 0n 7 canvases to trade or even know that was what you are looking for. Just my opinion in it.

Strongly agree about thicker skin. I might even say the more expensive work you sell, the thicker the skin needs to be.I know a friend who is looking to build a collection read this thread and was dumbfounded at the replies
