There is a programme on Channel 4 (in the UK) at 9pm tonight called ' Grayson Perry's Dream House' which is about his ' A House For Essex' project - "Inspired by his life and the people he grew up among, artist Grayson Perry creates his tribute to Essex women in all their glory and his powerful challenge to the reductive myth of the Essex girl." Although I'm not generally a big fan of Turner Prize-winning art, I thought his Reith Lectures from a couples of years ago were excellent so hopefully this will be worth a watch too.

Heard Grayson interviewed on radio 4 about this, together with some local residents (fair to say, opinion is finished!). From the descriptions, the house sounds amazing. Thanks for the heads up ferel. I shall set it to record.

The Vikings is a good one. Watched the first season after my mate said it might even be better than Game of Thrones. He could be right.

Watched a recorded documentary from Film 4 last night. Titled 'Milius' - the story of John Milius, enfante terrible of the Scorsese/Lucas/Spielberg/Coppola gang of the early seventies and writer of Apocalypse Now plus many others. Fascinating and insightful.

Just been re-watching Dubplate Drama on YouTube. It's that programme that was shown at about 2 in the morning, about 12 years ago, centering around the UK grime scene where you could text in and decide the outcome of the the episode/start of the next one. Dunno what made me think of it, but it's not as good as I remember (probably because I was always off my pickle when watching it) but a good concept with some legends of the underground scene popping up here and there.

Thanks Sean! Looks like there's still some free tickets – will try to wriggle out of work for this Did you go mate? If so thoughts? Enjoyed it, and didn't realise how much animosity there was between Rat and the Captain, mainly because of the latter being a twat, refusing to let a few things go. The Q & A was interesting. Rat appears genuinely upset that he's been excluded from a band that he started and was so much a part of. Bit too much footage of current Damned incarnation, who are just a cartoon punk band now.

Unfortunately not, got side tracked at a Lazarides / Miaz Brothers drinks thing. Cracking show by the way! Agree about the Captain. Remember years ago (around the time Happy Talk came out) the entire audience chanting "Sensible is a wanker" throughout the entire gig (Brockwell Park I think). Got the feeling the band were in complete agreement. Will have to find out where / when the film is on next – sounds good!
