Thankyou ouroboros Site looks a bit dodgy though, keeps redirecting me to even more dodgier looking sites everytime I click anywhere on the page. I think I will torrent it instead. Appreciate the link though Just tried it on Netflix on a VPN routed via USA and it seems I can watch it that way.

Its Ok, you get a few pop ups initially, but they can be closed down, the quality varies from bogus to HD. We link the laptop of stream it to the TV for family viewing without any issues

I mean what happens when the government puts a stop to vigilantes/civilian militias etc.? I bet they won't take their M16 assault rifles from them? Then one day their leader (who loves saying motherfuckers throughout the movie) who now has nothing to do with his life finds out his kids have been having a hard time at school with the teachers. Then decides to walk into their lunch room and kill them all with one burst from his M16. Man they have problems over there. Buying Assault rifles from supermarkets etc.. Fucking crazy...

Panorama - Living With Dementia: Chris's Story (BBC 1 tonight) 1 hr duration.
I normally avoid this type of programme, as it's easier to avoid than face the reality. I accidentally watched the beginning and was drawn in. Very interesting, or rather fascinating, but really, really fucking sad. Watch it on iplayer.

I used to read about and watch programmes on dementia/Alzheimer's as my grandma had it, was killed by it. The programme Pratchett made, the articles on the Dutch approach in Weesp. Fascinating. I stopped when my mother started suffering with it at a relatively early age. No happy ending.

Haven't watched this one, but watched one the other night with that posh old bird that does 'rip off Britain'. It was quite interesting and as you say, very fuckin sad. Also so hard for their loved ones that have to deal and live with it. Apart from old age and some hereditary, it also has big links with lack of sleep. So looks like I'm in with a big chance!

Also saw the Pratchett one, again heartbreaking, but the insight given, e.g. him not being able to see certain letters on the keyboard was something I'd never heard of.

Funnily enough Angela Rippon was on a programme a couple of weeks before, about getting old. They went to some place in Japan where virtually no one gets dementia, it was put down to them eating lots of purple sweet potatoe. Apparently any purple/blue natural food increases blood flow to the brain and decreases risk of dementia. The best bit was when they gave her the test they give to all US drone pilots, she got full marks, nobody had ever achieved that before.

So blueberries, beetroot and purple potatoes for dinner for the next 30 years. Hopefully a cure will be found, but probably some years off and not in our lifetime, unfortunately.

just rewatched Man on Wire for the umpteenth time. Every time I see it I am incredibly moved by Phillippe Petit, who in the truest definition of the phrase, will go down as one of the greatest "street artists" of all time

Just watched this tonight on Netflix and if you haven't seen it, it's worth a look. Not an easy watch, knowing it's got worse over these last few days.
