I support this being a place to bandy about with your personal musings, but I'm ultimately with will. I never got how people could be so down on Whatson for being repetitive or MBW for his commercialism (or JJ for whatever) but in the same breath rave about people doing very similar things. For those of us who know little about art, it makes it hard to decipher between those who just have a cob up their ass and those that have a worthwhile judgement of the art/technique/etc. And we have plenty of both! think its all rubbish why buy that shit ikea stuff ..... Am I missing something with all this talk of IKEA? Honestly hand on heart I have never been into one so I can't comment, maybe it's an untapped market of awesome pictures in limited edition runs or can I assume its a bit like the unfounded Athena rant as well? Didn't we cover that Athena mass produced poster prints and these J J runs are small editions.? So isn't the Athena and Ikea references a bit silly and all a bit kiddy playground stuff.

They didn't really do it for me this time so I didn't go for the new release screen prints the glow in the dark bit is cool though. I liked the rogue trooper but me and my wife could not agree (she didn't like it so was not allowed it). However we did grab a Courty 'colourful language' screen print instead to fulfill my want of glow in the dark. Isn't that another of Wishbone publishing's artists? I thought he worked with neon's and glass, how does his work translate to print? Did it come framed too? General question to all .......... Is Wishbone originally a framing shop? I can't for the life of me work out why on earth they would insist everything is framed, surely it's a logistical nightmare and a pain for delivery as well as a double pain for the buyer as they generally have to re-frame it. (The frames they use look really low quality).

I would love it if Wishbone turned out to be a framing shop.
"Business is so slow. How are we going to shift all of these frames we've got lying around?"
"We could find an artist to represent and then sell all of their work exclusively framed by us?"
"Yeah alright"
Edit: And before anyone starts and has a sense of humour failure, nobody's fucking suing me for anything, ok?

Yes the Image was framed but it kinda had to be as there is diamond dust making the colourful language part of the print on the outside of the glass. my wife really liked it and it's quite fun and very decorative. I stuck a picture on the latest buy thread of one like it. Mine is still with the gallery. edit... now I am not on a mobile phone can include picture.

her eyes are not reflecting catch lights they are in fact x-wings and the Death Star, lots of cool little bits that sometimes you don't see. It's an X-wing and a TIE Fighter in her eyes. The details are great and humerus and well tied in to the subject matters none the less.

New to forum, great to see Courty mentioned, true talent and subtle in his approach too. Not sure how it works as a print but saw an original in Cloud - Brighton and was incredible. Interesting to see the comments about JJ Adams - have followed his work for about a year - stormtrooper and R2D2 caught my eye, not fussed about the tattoo art as nothing special but stunned at how hes shot up! If you put the hard work in then great but seems to me that the pieces coming out are a tad lazy and aimed at getting a big return from the galleries quickly.

However this is his first release of screen prints and limited to 25 plus however many AP's so its still special and I can own a little something by an artist I like.

I thought Wishbone was a carpet shop?? ;P Is that why all their art is sold matted? I walked through the green room just after Wishbone Ash had come off stage, and one of them turned to one of the other band members - who was dressed all in white - and said 'You don't half look a fuckin' prat dressed like that!" Nothing to do with art, but makes me chuckle.

Wishbone appear to have quite a few artists beyond JJ and Courty. I don't mind some of the Dean Fox images but not sure I would buy one.

Just found their website, agree - Dean Fox has talent there, not sure if they are digital paintings on a tablet or oils? Love his sketches but how valuable are they if so many artists like this? Seems very similar to so many. Wishbone site doesnt do the artists much justice though, seems a bit dated.

I have got a Harry Bunce 'Avenger (Blue)' on the way, he is a new wishbone signing but that was merely due to the fact it was a gift cause they saw it at Ideal Home show and know i like the colour Blue and Badger's aha.

Yeah that's a good print - quite edgy and interesting style there. Are the frames really that bad from Wishbone? Read that prints are ok but taped to backboard and frames cheap?

to quote notmatti "crowd pleasing imagery" surely is the pop artist ultimate goal ? well it is mine. However, i think you'll find there are many strings to my bow - my POPtorian glass works for example ? if you can be bothered to look... my instagram is Star Wars (sci-fi)heavy but i assure you its a personal self satisfying endevour. instagram gallerywebsite
don't like being compared or mentioned in the same breathe as Jar Jar Adams and i have been doing it a bit longer (2006)

don't like being compared or mentioned in the same breathe as Jar Jar Adams and i have been doing it a bit longer (2006) Dear ryca, Let me start by saying I am honoured you would even give my drivel the time of day. Seriously I am quite clueless and the Internet has given me many an occasion to prove it. My point was simply that this artist has combined the lowest common denominator of several POPular artists, and I don't see the appeal in that. No comparison was being made to your overall body of work, nor the other artists I mentioned, and his. I happen to like your stuff, and have for a while, not that this should be of any comfort to you as I have terribly poor taste both in movies and art :
